Course Overview

This half day, hands on session gets learners straight into solving a real work problem using OpenAI's ChatGPT. After a short refresher on prompting basics, small teams pick a task that has been slowing them down, build and test prompts against it, and walk out with a working solution along with a clear sense of how they got there.

Who Should Attend

  • Professionals who have some familiarity with ChatGPT, whether from prior use or a prior AI fundamentals course
  • Anyone who wants dedicated, hands on time to apply ChatGPT to a real problem

Course Objectives

    • Recall core prompt types used in ChatGPT, including instruction, question, role, context, and refinement prompts
    • Write and test prompts that solve a specific, real workplace task
    • Review ChatGPT's output with a critical eye and improve it through iteration
    • Work with a team to design and present an AI supported solution
    • Recognize basic ethical considerations, such as privacy and accuracy, when using ChatGPT at work

Team Brainstorming

  • Identify a few tasks or workflows that take time or create friction
  • Pick one problem to solve with ChatGPT

Prompt Design & Testing

  • Build a first draft prompt
  • Test the prompt in ChatGPT and review the output
  • Try new versions and capture the strongest examples

Team Review & Selection

  • Share the best prompt versions within the group
  • Agree on the example that tells the clearest story

Team Presentations & Wrap-Up

  • Present the problem, the prompt approach, and the result
