Course Overview
This half day, hands on session gets learners straight into solving a real work problem using Google Gemini and Google Workspace. After a short refresher on prompting basics and where Gemini shows up across Workspace, small teams pick a workflow that has been slowing them down, build and test prompts against it in Gemini or an app such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Meet, and walk out with a working solution.

- Professionals who have some familiarity with Google Gemini and Google Workspace, whether from prior use or a prior AI fundamentals course
- Anyone who wants dedicated, hands on time to apply Gemini to a real problem
Course Objectives
- Recall core prompt types used in Gemini, including instructional, role based, contextual, and chain of thought prompts
- Write and test prompts inside Gemini or a Google Workspace app such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Meet
- Refine prompts based on Gemini's output
- Work with a team to design and present a Gemini supported solution, including a short Google Slides summary
- Reflect on basic ethical considerations, such as bias, privacy, and responsible AI use

- Review the Prompt-a-Thon flow and what teams will deliver
- Team roles and expectations
- How to test and iterate prompts in a focused way
Team Brainstorming
- Identify a few workplace challenges, such as workflow automation or communication bottlenecks
- Pick one problem to solve using Gemini and Workspace
Prompt Design & Testing
- Build a first draft prompt
- Test the prompt in Gemini and review the output
- Try new versions and capture examples of before and after outputs
Build a Mini Presentation
- Create a short presentation in Google Slides summarizing the problem, the prompting approach, and the result
Team Presentations & Wrap-Up
- Present the problem, the prompt approach, and the result
